It's almost been a year since it was revealed, and finally, the first beta of Yahoo! Messenger for Vista is out. I downloaded my copy this morning. Back in January, we were shown a preview video of Yahoo! Messenger for Windows Vista; this totally new application that supposedly takes advantage of Vista's advanced graphics engine, and gives an overall new and better user experience. Installation was just as good, if not a bit more seamless than Version 8.1 and the beta of version 9, with an overall black feeling to it. When started, the app has a new splash screen that says nothing other than "Yahoo! Messenger", and the logo, obviously. So

Well, we went for a journey to the local Wal-Mart today, and spotted a surprising sight; an Everex gPC complete with: VIA C7 Processor clocked at 1.5GHz; 512MB of DDR2 at 533MHz; 80GB Hard Drive (not quite sure of connection yet); DVD-ROM/CD-RW; VIA Unichrome Pro IGP Graphics (never heard of it); Realtek 6 Channel; and the rest is just the usual USB/VGA/etc. Well my mom loved the $198 price tag, so we threw it (very carefully) into the cart and went off.
